SUPPORT WORKERS – EXTRA CARE SUPPORTED LIVING

(Full time and part time hours available)

Based in Brighton and Hove

Salary Range £17,116 – 17,330pa depending upon experience and qualifications and subject to performance and qualifications based on a 37.5 hour per week contract.

FTF will be providing support and personal care to 15 people with learning disabilities and a range of other support and care needs, who live in a converted block of 7 flats in Hove and a new block of 3 flats for younger people transitioning to adult services on the same site in Hove which opened April 2017.

The ethos of Extra Care Supported Living is to promote maximum independence and community involvement, challenging people to develop new skills and confidence. Alongside this there is also a recognition that for some people, over time, age may bring increased needs for support and care, and that, as far as it is possible to achieve, people should not have to move from their settled supported living accommodation due to increased needs.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Work as part of a team, contributing to meetings, supervision, appraisals etc.
  • Demonstrate experience in care and support services
  • Inspire person centred working and ensure that people supported are able to lead life to the full
  • Plan for the support and care offered
  • Communicate effectively with all
  • Availability to work flexibly – this position will require working evenings, weekends and sleep ins as part of the rota.

ACTIVITY WORKER, FERNLEY, FORMBY, LIVERPOOL

Salary: £14,251 pa

The above rate is currently under review and the opportunity to progress to a higher rate of pay (dependent on experience and qualification) will be discussed at interview.

We have a vacancy for 1 full time Activity Support Worker at Fernley Resource Centre, Formby Liverpool L371PH.

The roles will require you to work with the Manager/ Team Leaders and Senior Activity Workers supporting adults who have learning disabilities who attend the centre.

The hours of work are between 8.30am – 4pm between Monday and Friday.

The post holders will be involved in leisure and recreational activities, assisting people to eat and drink and supporting people with their personal care. We have a planned programme of meaningful activities and the service operates within the ethos of the Charity which promotes dignity and respect for all.

Experience or qualification in social care and leisure and recreational activities would be desirable but not essential.

SUPPORT WORKERS, LIVERPOOL ADULT SERVICES, LIVERPOOL

£15,739 – £15,936 pa (equivalent to £8.07 to £8.17 per hour) for permanent shift positions.

BANK STAFF – £7.85 per hour

The Frances Taylor Foundation supports around 50 people with learning disabilities and a variety of care and support needs, living in a range of flats and shared houses in both the North and South of Liverpool. We consider the physical, emotional and intellectual needs of each individual and tailor the service to meet their requirements and aspirations. Our vision is that people lead life to the full, with their dignity respected, independence supported and uniqueness valued.

Join us and really make a difference to people’s lives! You will need to get to know the people we support, and what is important to, and important for, them. As we support people 365 days a year, you will work on a rota that includes weekends, bank holidays and evenings. In some locations staff are also required to undertake sleep-ins.

It is desirable that candidates have some experience of working with vulnerable people and experience of leading individual activities that promote independence in personal care, leisure, educational and social skills – with an emphasis on community integration. Having a driving license would be preferable for these positions, although not essential.

We offer training to QCF/NVQ level 2 if you do not already hold this qualification, and a variety of other training and development activity. In 2017, we achieved the Investors in People Silver standard, and went on to be awarded the title of national Employer of the Year amongst similar organisations at this level.

  • Have confidence and knowledge to support people who may experience medical and health issues and require medication.
  • Can demonstrate leadership skills and has the ability to guide and direct others.
  • Can be flexible to deliver the support service working day time, evenings and weekends.

St Joseph’s is home to 32 people and has a Short Breaks service that provides emergency respite and planned short breaks for 4 people at any given time. We want a Care Support Worker who responds appropriately to medical and health concerns, and the role may require you to administer medication in accordance with the charities’ policy and procedures.  We will ensure staff members are fully trained in any area before undertaking such duties.

The Service Supports individuals with learning disabilities and health needs, 24 hours a day 365 days a year.  Staff will work across all three areas of the home.  We have full and part time positions available from 16 hours to 37.5hrs.
