ACTIVITY WORKER/GARDENING, FERNLEY RESOURCE CENTRE, FORMBY, MERSEYSIDE

Rate of Pay: £14,287 pa (35hrs a week)

(Rate is dependent on experience and qualification).

The role will require you to work with the Senior Activity Workers to support adults who have learning disabilities who attend the centre.

The hours of work are between 8.30am – 4pm between Monday and Friday.

We believe that gardening is a wonderfully flexible medium that can transform lives and here at Fernley we see first-hand how gardening can help everyone, regardless of age or disability.

We use plants and gardening to improve physical and mental health, as well as communication and thinking skills. It also uses the garden as a safe and secure place to develop someone’s ability to mix socially, make friends and learn practical skills that will help them to be more independent.

Experience or qualification in social care and a passion for gardening would be desirable.

CARE AND SUPPORT WORKER, ST MARY’S HOME, ROEHAMPTON, LONDON

Starting salary: £17,116 – £17,330 depending on qualifications – Full time (37.5 hrs per week on average)

Bank Care and Support Worker – £8.29 per hour.

The Frances Taylor Foundation offers social care and support services, all 13 of which are rated “Good” by the Care Quality Commission – including St Mary’s Home in South West London.

In 2017 we achieved the Investors in People Silver standard, and went on to be awarded the title of national Employer of the Year amongst similar organisations at this level.

We wish to appoint a Care and Support Worker for one of our Care Homes in Southwest London.

St. Mary’s is a registered care home which is divided into 7 flats, one of which offers respite stays. The home offers a high quality, supportive, stimulating and homely environment to 42 adults with learning disabilities. We also have a day service onsite which adds to the diversity of the care and support we provide.

SUPPORT WORKER, LIVERPOOL ADULT SERVICES, LIVERPOOL

SUPPORT WORKERS REQUIRED FOR SUPPORTED LIVING SERVICES IN LIVERPOOL

£15,739 – £15,936 pa (equivalent to £8.07 to £8.17 per hour) for permanent shift positions.

Bank Staff – £7.85 PER HOUR

The Frances Taylor Foundation supports around 50 people with learning disabilities and a variety of care and support needs, living in a range of flats and shared houses in both the North and South of Liverpool. We consider the physical, emotional and intellectual needs of each individual and tailor the service to meet their requirements and aspirations. Our vision is that people lead life to the full, with their dignity respected, independence supported and uniqueness valued.

Join us and really make a difference to people’s lives! You will need to get to know the people we support, and what is important to, and important for, them. As we support people 365 days a year, you will work on a rota that includes weekends, bank holidays and evenings. In some locations staff are also required to undertake sleep-ins.

It is desirable that candidates have some experience of working with vulnerable people and experience of leading individual activities that promote independence in personal care, leisure, educational and social skills – with an emphasis on community integration. Having a driving license would be preferable for these positions, although not essential.

We offer training to QCF/NVQ level 2 if you do not already hold this qualification, and a variety of other training and development activity. St Joseph’s Home is set in beautiful surroundings within a pine forest close to the beach. St Joseph’s is home to 32 people and has a Short Breaks service that provides emergency respite and planned short breaks for 4 people at any given time. The home is separated into 3 modern areas with their own front entrances. We promote a culture based on respect and dignity for the people we support.

At St Joseph’s we pride ourselves on our values and incorporate this in to every aspect of the service we deliver to the people we support and the staff who support them.  We ‘Make It Happen’ for the people who use our service in many ways, not only meeting their health needs but also their social needs whilst ensuring that their personal relationships are maintained through regular contact and shared activities.

We are looking for Support Workers who can demonstrate compassion and empathy in their approach to caring for people with learning disabilities. We want people who show initiative and forward thinking who are willing to work in new ways to meet the needs of the people we support.

We want people who show dignity and respect in every aspect of their job.  We want people who can work in a multi-disciplinary value based team who promote choice and meaningful communication with the people they support.

The successful candidate will be undertaking a varied role with many different aspects to delivering care.  They will be providing personal care to the adults who live at St Joseph’s, supporting people to access the local community, supporting group excursions and many other activities that are meaningful to each individual.  They will also be developing skills in sensory based activities and interaction with a sensory room on each area of the home.  Staff will also have the opportunity to undertake a wide variety of training from mandatory based training to hydrotherapy, intensive interaction, medication awareness to name a few.

We want a Care Support Worker who responds appropriately to medical and health concerns, and the role may require you to administer medication in accordance with the charities’ policy and procedures.  We will ensure staff members are fully trained in any area before undertaking such duties.

The Service Supports individuals with learning disabilities and health needs, 24 hours a day 365 days a year.  Staff will work across all three areas of the home.  We have full and part time positions available from 16 hours to 37.5hrs.
