We want to foster a “YES CULTURE”

Another milestone in the history of SMG Kenya was reached on January 12th, when thirty seven SMGs gathered to witness the appointment of Sr. Munanie Syengo as the first Kenyan Area Leader, together with her team of Catherine Gleeson, Mumbi Mutwii and Priscilla Muchira.  This team will accompany, encourage and guide the Sisters as they endeavour to say “yes” to the spiritual, social and physical needs of the people in their areas of Kitui, Mwingi, Kiambu and Kitale.  They also take on the responsibility of a new mission in Tanzania.   The 12^th. February 1872 is recognised by the Church as the Foundation day of the Congregation. On 12^th. February, Sr. Munanie will accompany Srs. Catherine Muema and Charity Njeri to Kondoa Tanzania to begin their mission in an area where there are few Christians in a newly established parish.   May they, and we, all foster a “yes culture” to our sisters and brothers regardless of age, colour, creed or social standing.
