1. Main gender pay gap figures
Women earned 99p for every £1 that men earned (comparing median hourly pay).
Women made up 83.8% of employees in the highest paid quarter, and 79.8% of employees in the lowest paid quarter.
2. Hourly pay
Women’s median hourly pay was 0.8% lower than men’s – this means they earned 99p for every £1 that men earn when comparing median hourly pay.
Women’s mean (average) hourly pay was 7.3% lower than men’s.
3. Pay quarters
Women made up:
83.8% of employees in the upper hourly pay quarter (highest paid jobs). In the upper hourly pay quarter (highest paid jobs): 83.8% were women and 16.2% were men.
90.9% of employees in the upper middle hourly pay quarter. In the upper middle hourly pay quarter: 90.9% were women and 9.1% were men.
95.0% of employees in the lower middle hourly pay quarter. In the lower middle hourly pay quarter: 95.0% were women and 5.1% were men.
79.8% of employees in the lower hourly pay quarter (lowest paid jobs). In the lower hourly pay quarter (lowest paid jobs): 79.8% were women and 20.2% were men.
