Announcing the death of two beloved SMG Sisters - Sr Mary Forrest and Sr Anne Prendergast
Sr Mary Forrest S.M.G died peacefully at Maryfield Nursing Home, Chapelizod, Dublin on 15th April, 2026. Formerly of Coolbane, Freemount, Co. Cork. Predeceased by her parents Ellen and Joseph, her sisters Brid, Eileen and Joan and her brother Paddy. Sadly missed by her loving family, religious community, relatives and friends. Rest in peace dear Sr. Mary.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at Maryfield Nursing Home, Chapelizod on 20th April followed by burial at Glasnevin Cemetery.
Mary was a remarkable teacher and educator. She served in the Diocese of Southwark, Westminster and Brentwood in the UK. In Ireland she taught in Manor House School, Raheny, Dublin and in St. Aloysius’ Secondary School, Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork.
Sr. Anne Prendergast, formerly of Caherbreagh, Ballymacelligott, Tralee, Co. Kerry and the Poor Servants of the Mother of God, died peacefully in her 86th year, on 14th April 2026 in Brentford, Middlesex.
Anne is sadly missed by her Community at St. Maryville Nursing Home Brentford her sister Helen and brother-in-law Richard, nieces and nephews, her cousins, relatives and her many friends. Predeceased by her parents and brothers John and Michael. Anne served in SMG Convents in the Diocese of Southwark, Westminster, Brighton and Liverpool. She was a lifelong devotee and promoter of Mary Immaculate Queen and was a dedicated Poor Servant of the Mother of God. Rest in peace dear Sr. Anne.
Funeral to take place at St. Mary’s Convent, Brentford on the 6th May at 11am. It can be viewed live streamed at Poor Servants of the Mother of God.
