In Loving Memory of Sr. Margaret Leahy — A Life of Faith, Love and Service to the Poor

Sr. Margaret Leahy RIP (Poor Servant of the Mother of God, St Aloysius’ Convent, Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork and formerly of Kilcredan, Ballymacoda, Co Cork).

Margaret passed away unexpectedly on the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, February 11th, 2026. She will be sadly missed by her community of the Poor Servants of The Mother of God Sisters and her family, sister-in-law Mary, her nieces, Margot, Jo and Teresa, her nephews Noel and Paul their families, relatives, and friends.

She was predeceased by her brother John and, recently, by her brother Fr. Bill, a priest of the Diocese of Savanah, USA.

May Sr. Margaret rest In Peace.

Reposing at St. Aloysius’ Convent, Carrigtwohill, on Friday, February 13th from 4.pm. ending with Evening Prayer. 6.45 p.m.

Requiem Mass at 2.pm on Saturday, 14th in St. Mary’s Church, Carrigtwohill, followed by burial in the SMG plot in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Carrigtwohill.

Sr. Margaret devoted her whole life to her faith and as a Poor Servant of the Mother of God, to the service of the Poor.
