Feast of Sts. Anne and Joachim
This is the feast of the grandparents of Jesus – his only grandparents. They must have been so proud of him.
Ask St. Anne to obtain for all of us a deeper devotion to her (Mary) whom she calls child. We read so much about the saints, but think of the care they lavished on others. Joachim was the father and protector of Mary.
Let us pray to them today for all families, and for grandparents, many of whom are bringing up their grand-children in faith.
