Foundation Day of the Congregation Feast of the Most Pure Heart of Mary, given by special decree of the Vatican to the Congregation Mother’s Vow Day, 1872
The SMG Congregation was officially begun on this day when Mother Magdalen made her Vows for life.
“Mary kept all these words in her heart”, let us try to understand what the Holy Spirit means by telling us this. Surely it is that we too should ponder on Mary’s heart.
Today, we pray, in the words of Psalm 60, a favourite of Mother Magdalen’s:
Let me stay in your tent forever, taking refuge in the shelter of your wings. Accept my vows, may I always sing of your name, fulfilling the vows I have taken, day after day.
