POOR SERVANTS OF THE MOTHER OF GOD

Thought for the Day

I remember Mother Magdalen as having the singular power, on account of her special gifts, of doing much in a short time. Nobody could understand how she kept “The Month” floating

before she gave it to our Fathers. During that time she was Editor, and indeed everything else connected with it. I always found her so unselfish.

Fr. Ronan S.J., her friend from Crimean days,

from whom she received her First Holy Communion

Because there was a dearth of Catholic literature available to people at that time, due to the restrictions of the Penal Laws, Mother Magdalen determined to do everything she could to remedy the situation by writing, editing and passing on the Good News to as many people as possible. Let us, in our own smaller way, imitate her zeal.
