POOR SERVANTS OF THE MOTHER OF GOD

WOULD YOU LIKE TO MEET A GRACIOUS LADY WHO HAS JUST CELEBRATED HER 100TH BIRTHDAY?

Sister Anna Bye, a member of the Congregation of the Poor Servants of the Mother of God celebrated her 100th birthday on the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel July 16th.

Known to her Religious Sisters as Sr. Anna and Vera Colleen to her family she still looks young and with her infectious smile welcomed everyone who came to celebrate her memorable 100th birthday celebration, comprising of Sisters, relatives, and friends. Sr. Anna now belongs now to the elite group of people who celebrated their 100th birthday.

The sparkle in her eyes is not dulled by age, neither is old age robbing her of the memories she has always held so dear. During her life Sister Anna has brought immense happiness, love and joy to the Congregation, family members, relatives, and friends. Her whole life as a Poor Servant of the Mother of God was dedicated to people with special needs and she gave her heart and soul to caring for them. She is a gentle, gracious, and courteous lady who loves to dress elegantly and likes to wear a hat.

There was a special Mass of Thanksgiving in Maryville chapel at noon, and all were given the opportunity to thank God for Sr. Anna’s long life.

In the afternoon a wonderful barbecue party for Sisters, family members, residents of Maryville, and friends was prepared and served in the grounds of Maryville.

A staff member prepared the food, and few other staff members were there to serve hot delicious food to the guests. The taste of the grilled food was just out of the world, and everyone appreciated the chef’s cooking skills. To make this party even more special, musical entertainment was provided later in the evening.
