POOR SERVANTS OF THE MOTHER OF GOD

THANK YOU TO ALL OUR STAFF

As 2021 draws to a close, we extend our sincere gratitude to each member of our staff and friends for their commitment to care and administration during another difficult year.  We appreciate the dedication, self-sacrifice and teamwork which enabled all to persevere.  Only a vision of the value of each person can enable us to act in this way and mutual support is vital.  Nobody envisaged the extent of the pandemic in its duration or its impact on everyone.  None of us has any idea of the path which lies ahead.

Some words from the poem The Journey of the Magi by T.S. Eliot come to mind as I think of our Covid-19 journey

“A cold coming we had of it,
Just the worst time of the year
For a journey, and such a long journey:
The ways deep and the weather sharp,
The very dead of winter.
There were times we regretted…….

A hard time we had of it……
At the end we preferred to travel all night,
Sleeping in snatches,
With the voices singing in our ears, saying
That this was all folly.

And I would do it  again….”

We feature the journey of the Magi to Bethlehem on our card this year as we pray that you, all our leaders and medical personnel will continue on the difficult journey.  May the knowledge that we make a difference in the lives of others be a source of encouragement to us as we continue our journey in 2022.
